 Born on this day in 1920 – Alan MacNaughtan, actor who appeared in Frankenstein Created Woman, Journey to the Unknown, and Out of this World.


On this day in 1955 – The Atomic Man is released.


In Doctor Who on this day in 1967 saw the first use of an optical special effect as a Cyberman blasts a hole in the wall of a moonbase with a space cannon.


And in the Horror genre:

On this day in 1922 - Nosferatu released theatrically.


On this day in 1965 - Paul W. S. Anderson (director of several horror films) born.


On this day in 1999 - Silent Hill released on the PlayStation in Japan.
