Doctor Who Trivia:

In Doctor Who on this day in 1970 the theme tune ‘sting’ is used for the first time to emphasise the cliffhanger ending of each episode. This was suggested by Michael Ferguson.

On this day in 1981 Tom Baker makes his final appearance as the Doctor.


On his day in 1981 Peter Davison’s credit in the closing titles is the last time an actor in the role is credited as ‘Doctor Who’ rather than ‘The Doctor’ until 2005.


Born on this day in 1983 Bruno Langley who played Adam Mitchell. Mitchell was a young English researcher in the employ of the American GeoComTex billionaire Henry van Statten in the year 2012.


After van Statten was outed from GeoComTex for the "Metaltron" incident, Adam become a companion to the Ninth Doctor, at Rose Tyler's urging. However, Adam disgraced himself by filching information from the future with intent to alter his timeline, and the Doctor spurned Adam from accompanying him any further.

On this day in 2012 a press conference is held to announce that Jenna Louise-Coleman will be the new companion.
