Born on this day in 1939 – Paul Winfield, American actor - Terminator, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Damnation Alley, Mars Attacks!, Babylon 5, Star Trek: TNG, Twilight’s Last Gleamin

In Star Trek he played Captain Clark Terrell in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Captain Dathon in the Star Trek: The Next Generation fifth season episode "Darmok" in 1991.

On this day in 1992 – Aliens 3 was released.

On this day in 2001 – Jack Watling, actor, died aged 78 - Doctor Who, H.G.Wells’ Invisible Man.

In Doctor Who he played Professor Edward Travers in the television stories The Abominable Snowmen and The Web of Fear and the video Downtime. He was the father of Deborah and Giles Watling. Deborah appeared alongside her father in those three stories as Victoria Waterfield.
