Cthulhu Mythos
Trivia:
April 12 1771 A
raid is initiated on Joseph Curwen's Pawtuxet farm. In the aftermath,
Curwen is never seen again. Curwen's copy of the Necronomicon- unique
in having the title "Qanoon-é-Islam" on its cover- is
spirited away. ("The Case of Charles Dexter Ward,"
Lovecraft)
April 12 1925 Gustaf
Johansen, the sole survivor of the group of sailors that landed on
R'lyeh, is found by rescuers. Johansen and his wife later move to
Oslo, where Johansen dies in a dockside accident. His diary of the
events on R'lyeh, later named the Johansen Narrative, comes into the
possession of anthropologist Francis Thurston. The Narrative proves
to be invaluable to investigators of the Cthulhu Mythos. ("The
Call of Cthulhu," Lovecraft)
